Pre-registration for Kinesis Virtual Card is now open

THIS IS AN UNOFFICIAL PLACEHOLDER POST TO ACCOMODATE THE DISCUSSION IN PROGRESS ON A NEWLY AVAILABLE FEATURE ON THE KINESIS WEBSITE.

As of Monday 30th September, pre-registration for the new Kinesis Virtual Card is now possible via the Kinesis web app.

Has anybody here actually succeeded in "pre-registering" for the new virtual card? How did you do it? Clicking the link in my email doesn't take me to a place to do it. "Kinesis Support" won't even try to help me, or answer any questions.
 
AIM, this is very encouraging to hear. I have no trouble logging into my account. In fact, when I click the email's "pre-register" link, it takes me right there, to my home page. How do I find the Virtual Debit Card option? I have looked high and low.

Yes, I logged in to Kinesis, selected the Virtual Debit Card option and hit the 'Preregister now' that returned green confirmation immediately.

AIM, thanks for trying. I don't have an Android device. I haven't been able to use the Kinesis app on my iPhone for many months. Kinesis live-chat "support" blew me off immediately and said ask my account manager, whom I emailed. Maybe in a few months I will get answers.
 
Look at the left side of the KMS, you will see logos, click on the credit card one..

I think previously that you said that you were based in Georgia.
Georgia is in the list of supported countries, so you should be able to register:

You need to use the web application to register ie https://kms.kinesis.money/ rather than the mobile apps.
Given that it is mobile sensitive, you should be able to comfortably use it on a desktop/laptop or mobile device.

1 Once you've logged in, look at the options down the left hand side. Depending on the screen width of the device you're using, click on Virtual card (as in AlM's screenshot) or the card icon as Lozion mentioned.

2 You should then see this screen.
It's the same as AlM posted, but as this is from an account that hasn't yet registered, it shows the button that you need to click on.
All you need to do is to click on that Pre-Register button and you're done.

We were told we would have a Timeline
about the migration process.

My expectation is that a timeline will be communicated when it is available.
I would also personally be looking for evidence that any timeline was achievable before communicating it.

In the past, there have been indications of regional availability within certain timeframes via Baanx, which were not met. To be fair, this may well have been dependent on the previous card issuer.
Hopefully, the new card issuer will be able to build a better track record, which translates positively for themselves and through to Baanx and Baanx partners. such as Kinesis.

While I'm also really looking forward to being able to use the new card and would like to have it already, I don't see much value in pushing out a timeline that's not high confidence.


FWIW From the last Vaultside, Kinesis has prepared the marketing to go behind this, so has every interest in bringing it to life as soon as possible.

Uchiki, thanks for coming to my aid. As you can see from my Mac screenshot below, when I am logged into KMS, I see no virtual card icon or language such as you show. I remember that there used to be one on the left side, but I haven't seen it for a while. What am I doing wrong?

Yes, I do live in Georgia, an approved country.

@Randall Mark Trainer did you have a VDC before?
I have the button on screen and could pre-register easily, but I had used the old VDC, so that may be why.

Otherwise no idea, someone from support may have to jump in.
CrypticMystic, I have been an active Kinesis client long enough to remember having the original plastic card, long since discontinued. Later, when the Baanx virtual card was introduced, I spent over two years trying to get one, but was always refused, for absurd "reasons", despite residence in a listed country and zero history of any misdoing. I wasted countless hours in the vain pursuit of satisfying Baanx compliance, or so I was told. Client abuse in the first degree, but of course, never any fault of Kinesis.
 
Does the Home page selected from the left hand tab not have a large VDC icon on the top right?

Steve, if you are addressing me, my KMS home page (logged-in), absolutely has no VDC icon top right. I do see a blue card icon marked "Purchase", but that is for buying crypto with a credit card, not for VDC.
