Pre-registration for Kinesis Virtual Card is now open

THIS IS AN UNOFFICIAL PLACEHOLDER POST TO ACCOMODATE THE DISCUSSION IN PROGRESS ON A NEWLY AVAILABLE FEATURE ON THE KINESIS WEBSITE.

As of Monday 30th September, pre-registration for the new Kinesis Virtual Card is now possible via the Kinesis web app.

Yes. This was indicated in Vaultside.

So where you shop with the merchant and get a [Merchant] Metalback, you know, that's sort of maybe 2, 3 to 7% or whatever it is, then you'll also get an additional cashback on every purchase, no matter what it is, whether it's the merchant or not.

Again from Vaultside episode 4:

So the idea is just to give you a card that is rewarding in many, many aspects. And, you know, we've really looked at, you know, the financial modeling around this card so that we can essentially make it as attractive as possible.

So along with that, we have some really, really great marketing campaigns that are planned. Again, just, you know, we're right in the mix of a massive campaign. We're looking at, you know, multiple regions across Canada, Australia, Europe, all the places that we're able to really have a positive impact.

However, until we get the card program fully live in the US, then the marketing stuff is sort of a little bit on hold.

However, we are absolutely working on bringing the US online, and we're making good progress there.
 
What I personally like is that I won’t have to expensively off-board funds again. I won’t have to get slugged with a $25 USD bank fee and while previously paying 1.75% card fee could be taken on the chin, this is so much better.
Velocity here we come!
 
I wouldn't think so. I just preregistered for the new VDC during this forum chat, as have others.

I'm not putting a message on X until we get the official email from Kinesis.

From memory previous iteration of the webpage suggested .22% plus any fx fees (executed in usd paid in local currency I presume) plus any mastercard fees

But yes would love to know actual fees

Also if fiat is still a payment option
 
I pre-registratered my wife for a card too. She hasn’t got into the Kinesis stuff yet, but she’ll like having a backup card and it’s also a way of doubling the spending cap.

So its now official. Some notes:

No more 1% fee on the basic plan?
No US support is a disapointment.
Canada is supported but Metalback isnt which is non intuitive.
Fiat is supported?
Any ETA?
No more Optimus, supposes no more SmS bug, yee..

Qualifying transactions include purchases made using any asset available on the Kinesis platform, including precious metals and, or cryptocurrency (excluding KVTs), provided the user’s account holds sufficient funds to cover the transaction.

Fiat removed.
