300 stores available in Australia with most 1-5%. A number of stores I'd buy from, but only on occasion. I'd love to see the program expanded to everyday or high value/volume purchases - think supermarkets, petrol stations, energy retailers, telcos, insurance companies etc.

Not sure if that is possible, but that would be a huge draw for Kinesis I believe.

Exactamundo, Dante -- everyday purchases.

And it should be completely possible, as we can use DCs and CCs already and for decades now for those purchases, and some, like the ones I use do give %rebates on absolutely everything.

Obviously lower cost, volume items couldn't have the "metalback" %'s that the high value items might have, ie, marked up so they can be discounted and still make a huge profit. But those high value items can often be found w/o the logos ("white label" -- marca branca) for much less than the "name" brands sell them for. Same machine / tool / item for much less. In which case, obviously, the "rebate" is meaningless.

I think high volume, low margin and staple item companies are tending to offer the lowest rates eg 0.6% for EBAY compared with luxury products 3-10%, and things that nobody really wants eg Norton antivirus 30% (actually- there might be many takers, who knows??).

But supermarkets and fuel stations might offer a small rate. Time will tell.

I’m not so excited about the money that I’ll personally save, I just think that it gives the whole system more marketability and especially something extra for partners to spruik. It’s also a great way to get bloke’s wives on board. Birthday presents, holidays, accommodation, pharmaceuticals and supplements, clothing etc still represents a massive part of the retail economy.

I’m actually impressed that this number of retailers is available. It’s only going to get bigger. On top of this there’ll be the Kinesis Commercial Centre. That will be really interesting.

Tom’s grand vision of getting gold and silver circulating as money is coming rapidly into sharp focus for me (now that I have 3% back on spec savers).

You can use a debit card. I use it last night to pay for the t-shirts. I got a bit excited and in the X message wrongly stated that I used silver, but that will come when the VDC is back on.

I'll correct the message and post a pic of the t-shirts when I get them. It shows that it can be used now with an existing debit card

So...no, M&S is not accepting KAG directly (yet). Maybe this will never be needed: keep your assets out of the banking system, get rewards in gold and silver and still be able to buy what you want.

This should see a leap in volume, now that holidays etc can be bought with an existing debit card.

Love this. In Germany there is a great selection so far too, I am really really impressed with some of the offers too in regards to %'s, these are on par and better with other cashback offerings. I was prepping some shopping lists late last night to get stuck into this weekend too :) Temu is at 12.5%....(Yes yes, it's cheap stuff, but so what, for some everyday things it's perfectly fine), H&M 4% too here. Once VDC is back live it will be a killer combo for referrals.

Yes, Temu is great. And though they've got some cheap (~cheaply made) stuff, they also have some very good stuff. That's a great rebate! I hadn't seen that. That perked me up a bit!

PS ... it appears that Metalback is not currently supported in Portugal. Kinesis states in "Can I get Metalback as a resident of a non-supported country?" that I should be able to. But for instance when I went to Temu / Spain (Temu ES), it states it's for residents of Spain. Is Kinesis saying that I can purchase from them and they'll ship the item to me in Portugal and give me that rebate as well? Hopefully other countries, like Portugal, will soon be added to the supported list.

Looking through the UK-based stores I can already buy 99% of what we'd normally use via Metalback very quickly and easily.

Given that we're invested in Kinesis and are presumably trying to help push toward success, surely we'd use Metalback where it makes not much difference in terms of what shampoo or socks we use?

We'll likely see that a 5% Metalback today will accrue a lot more spending power in the coming months and years.

I see this, with the VDC, as transformational for Kinesis and us as customers and investors. Why not just have a go and enjoy the gold?

The Metalback program is so great! You can pay with the Kinesis VDC (When activated again) and get velocity yield and that contributes to the MFP as well or you can pay with any other way, getting gold back which also gives you the holder yield and it incentivises you to use the KMS in the future or uou can use it and you still get velocity yield. In any case it pushes KMS adoption and usage.

Following this week’s launch, Kinesis users can now earn up to 10% Metalback – paid in gold (KAU) – on purchases at leading retailers worldwide.

Moreover, as is the Kinesis way, the benefit of the Metalback program goes beyond the individual and rewards each and every user within the Kinesis Monetary System.

No fees

Another important consideration is that, with up 10% contributed, the percentage contributed to the yield pool is more significant than other volume drivers for the system. With no fees charged on Metalback purchases, this contribution is at no cost to Kinesis users.

We give back

For all Metalback earned by users, Kinesis makes an equal contribution to the Master Fee Pool.

For example, if a user earns 10% Metalback on a purchase, Kinesis will match it with a 10% contribution to the Master Fee Pool.

Note:
this contribution is not taken from the purchase cost, but shared directly from the merchant.

Through the 6 Kinesis yields, more than half of the Master Fee Pool is distributed to users each month, rewarding them for their everyday participation in the system.
