There'll be other, additional benefits that we didn't know about. Interesting times ahead and we'll be able to spend Metalback rewards on more Metalback purchases. A virtuous circle.
It will educate some of the retail rewards focused public about precious metals via the back-door. It'll be like they discovered the benefits of saving and spending in precious metals without having to watch 7 hours of Mike Maloney.

Mike's one of the good guys and I have a lot of time for him, even seven hours, although it is a bit like reading Thomas Carlyle.

Mike's been a leader of the sound money movement forever and his years with Jeff Clark really helped me.

Good for you @Uchiki

I used the desktop s/w yesterday in case the mobile's screen resolution wasn't displaying details.

No details for a Metalback transaction were shown, nor produced via the export transactions function.

I bought the socks on 14th September 2024, with a confirmation per the post on X, meaning 180 days thereafter is 13th March 2025.

Let's see if the Metalback reward is forthcoming by 13th March. Radio silence so far from support.

can i buy airline tickets in Australia for example from Perth to Brisbane?
We are under the thumb a bit here in Australia, but yeah they do still let us fly between cities!

If you login to your account and check Aust retailers and filter by travel category there are a few airlines. There are also some travel websites that would have links to search flights - eg booking.com, trip.com, expedia - that offer better metalback BUT I'm not sure if then buying through the travel website link would work.

Metalback needs improving. Customers need evidence of their purchases in their Kinesis account at the time of purchase. I’m not receiving confirmation emails and not confident I’ll receive my metalback to be honest. Such a small amount I won’t bother chasing but the user experience isn’t up to par in my opinion.

Some are receiving the confirmation emails and some aren’t. What’s that all about? Not good enough.

I agree with this sentiment. I've definitely made purchases that never were acknowledged and it's been long enough I now know they are lost to the void.

They were things I was purchasing anyway but a bit disappointing to go to the effort of using the system and to come out empty handed.

We know it’s possible to get an email confirmation from people’s feedback on the forum, but it’s not reliable in my experience. I haven’t had any confirmation and I’ve made three purchases.

So why use a services you can’t rely on?

Just seems flaky to me which is a shame.

I tried through AliExpress without success but never trusted it to go through since a lot of time the http address changes .. also if a confirmation email was to be received it would be first needed to go through AliExpress notifying Kinesis... so if any flakiness I think the other end (not Kinesis) also has a lot to do with it.

I just received today my very first Metalback in my account -- from 17 Oct, 2024 ...!!... a very full 150 days (just corrected it ... I had thought it was 180).

It appears that this particular vendor (Temu)(or perhaps many or all of them?) excludes taxes from the "Amount spent" as the original charge was for 70,18€ (-23% IVA here = 54,04€ -- the little difference probably having to do with the CC used -- conversion from and to USD).

At least now I know that I should start receiving other metal back as I was beginning to wonder. And btw, I received a confirmation email from Kinesis regarding this Metalback transaction back on 18 Oct, 2024

Eventually vendors will self-select by offering Metalback payments more quickly than their competitors. It'll take time, but if Kinesis customers can choose between similar products at similar prices, time to credit will become a factor.

There will always be considerations of peak time for refunds before which vendors will likely withhold payments, however it will be interesting to see whether those accepting Kinesis Pay generally make Metalback payments earlier.
They will after all be more keyed into the KMS than those participating in the existing program.
