KPay Demonstration Shop

KPay is an impressive payment tool for Wordpress WooCommerce shop installations. I believe this plugin is going to bring a large number of transactions into the Kinesis system over time and become an incredibly important Kinesis velocity generating component.

I have been tinkering with KPay for a while and have a demo site set up if anyone is interested in looking at it. Because there is no "Test Transaction Mode" in KPay, the shop is live and transactions on it will process, if allowed to. For that reason, the site is currently available only by invite (I don't want any testers mistakenly spending their hard earned KAU/KAG on test transactions).

KPay is easy to setup and transactions are virtually instantaneous with a mere 0.45% transaction fee. (Far better than any other payment provider I'm aware of - usually 3-4%)

Here is a brief video demonstrating KPay in action >>

If you DO want to look at the LIVE demo site and test it, send me a DM and I will forward you a bypass URL that allows access.

FYI .. I forgot to mention, for anyone who tests/tinkers with the LIVE demo site, the first time you tap/click PLACE ORDER, the screen just refreshes without displaying the KPay QR code. On second and subsequent clicks, the QR code is properly displayed.

This is a known issue.

Powerful stuff!

The Kinesis Pay Woocommerce plugin was updated to version 2.0.0 on 2025-01-16.

I have updated the KPay Demo Shop with the new version and tested a transaction with no issues.

According to the plugin release notes, the following changes were made in 2.0.0

Repository: bullioncapital/kinesis-pay-woocommerce · Tag: 2.0.0 · Commit: eef44cd
  • Added from_address, to_address and transaction_hash to payment table
  • Removed paymentKauAmount and paymentKagAmount from createPayment request
  • Changed to support block-based checkout page
  • Changed to create a Pending status order before payment is processed
  • Removed unused cron job
  • Removed custom error page
  • Changed to cancel/process a pending order as per payment status in admin and inventory cron job
  • Changed to use the existing valid payment on placing order if there's one
  • Appended KPay payment ID to payment method on order received page, customer account order details page and admin order details page
  • Added replace_title_with_icon and hide_description settings
  • Changed to disable the gateway if selected currency is not supported
  • Some UI changes in frontend and admin
  • Enhanced error handling
  • Enhanced form data security check

Any feature updates to point out? Specifically the two device use issue we previously talked about?

I did do a quick checkout test via mobile browser.

Tapping on the link "Continue in Browser" does launch a browser tab/window to the KMS. This then displays a modal with the title: "Welcome to Kinesis Pay" (see screenshot below) and the button "MAKE A PAYMENT", when tapped the payment ID is properly transferred and the payment can be processed.

This seems to work nicely. Tested with a pre-logged in user on KMS and with a user that needed to log in after tapping "Continue in Browser. Both succeeded. (Android 12 OS tested).

Not sure why Kinesis can't receive a payment from a third party, like Paypal and other payment companies do? As long as they are paying with a card, they have id verification.
With a no-brand feature that could be customized to match the sellers needs (us).
And having an api to allow interface to services like integrately, and other value added payment companies. There are all kinds of decent companies that, have reseller features that could be sold. I only have one in mind, and I learned they recently interfaced to integrately.

  • Added Test API Connection feature to payment settings page
  • Renamed Live Publishable Key to Access Token, Live Private Key to Secret Token
  • Changed to disable the gateway if it fails to connect to API when saving payment settings
Labels on the Tokens now reflect the labels on the associated KMS page where users set up their Kinesis Pay settings. The API test button now confirms a successful connection or failure thereof.

In Wordpress>>Woocommerce>>Settings>>Payments>>KinesisPay, the following changes can be seen on the settings page:
