Aim: use Twitter and other social media to promote Kinesis by showing how it can be used to buy things.
1) take a picture of the item purchased; of the card payment on Google Wallet; of the KMS KAU/KAG transaction and/or of the confirmation email. Edit for privacy and security.
2) to minimise file sizes, select the pictures and take screenshots on the mobile phone to be added to the tweet.
3) once only: create a piece of standard text and save it in your phone Contacts under Kinesis to copy and paste for each message. Include your referral code at the end. It's quicker and more consistent. Some people get really irritated by misspellings.
Sample message: Bought with physical gold on my phone via @kinesismonetary with a small fee shared with other customers. Earn a yield when you save & spend and don't worry about inflation. It's money on the move: [referral code]
4) target audience. Identify by town, business organisation, university, sports clubs, a restaurant where you've just eaten, or even a bag of crisps at the local supermarket. The more local the better and adapt the content (I'm not interested in babies' nappies). Just guess the name of the club or town. Have a look at how many users belong to each. Tie it in to a fair, local sports event, or concert. Tap Tweet and paste the text, then add the pictures. Check it, Hit the button.
5) frequency. I wouldn't want to see more than one tweet per week about anything and variety is better. A car wash, a restaurant, a pub.
6) if possible hand a Kinesis card with QR code to the server. Say, "I just paid with gold. Physical gold. You buy it, spend it and a small fee goes back to the customers. Inflation? Take a look."
7) make it a positive message because you'll likely revisit the place, so you're unlikely to recommend Kinesis if it's dodgy. That works both ways. Never post a negative message. Ultimately you want to sign them up via your referral code, but this may take a few messages. You only need a couple of businesses in the area, then they'll convert the rest because they use each others' services.
8) if a retail outlet has signed up, ask if it wants to put a small Kinesis poster in the window, "Kinesis - Pay in gold and silver". Customers can scan their merchant QR code to pay. Think of the business: if it's a restaurant, don't start talking about Kinesis during a busy service. If they don't want it, don't insist.
9) when I told a relative about this, she immediately said, "You'll get free Chinese food!", but no, never. This is to help local businesses.
10) humour can seem like a good idea, but is personal. A neutral comment about the weather when the picture was taken or that the food was great (again) may be best.
11) measurement. From Uchiki, "Jeff's Referral Service has a count near the bottom of the landing page.
Capture that before your tweet and then again sometime after and it would give an indication of how many had used the QR code.
Combined with achieved Referrals, that would give some reasonable measurement."
