Wall Street Silver Partnership Suspension

Dear community members,

We feel it is important to inform our community that Kinesis has decided to suspend its sponsorship of the Wall Street Silver subreddit and associated platforms.

Despite our continued admiration and support for the silver community, we feel that the direction of Wall Street Silver and recent events on the group have caused an aggregate deviation from earlier principles.

As a result, this shift is incompatible with Kinesis' commitment to promoting the ideals of sound money and secure precious metals ownership.

Thank you,
The Kinesis team

We need to get in touch with the NORFED folks as well, ultimately think we have the same goals (plus liberty dollars are cool af)
Won't happen, NORFED is defunct and Bernard von NotHaus was charged and found guilty of "making coins resembling and similar to United States coins." That's over a decade ago.

Kinesis is too astute. By taking the path of following government regulations the goal of sound money will be introduced by government consent.

I wanted for WSS what we did for C4SM. A structure with transparency and a board. Late tonight but eager to talk.
Jim, I rarely check into the discord server but if you move out into the twitterverse I'm more likely to follow and contribute.

When you get over the target you'll know.

@ctharvey
As much as I like to deny WSS the referral benefits from the people who signed up through WSS, it will make Kinesis look bad /unreliable if Kinesis facilitates changing the referee after the fact. Referrals were advertised as being for life, and Kinesis should keep this promise unless you have a damn good reason to change it.

WSS may have "cooked the books" (inflated user numbers) so I guess an advertiser could challenge them on that. But the referrals that they have provided are the only thing that isn't in dispute, because they themselves are the evidence that people have signed up through them.

I guess the only proper way for a user to deny WSS their referral income is to close their account and open a new one. But then they also lose their own benefits such as referrals and built up Minters Yield on that account.

If the referral was not made in good faith, or it can be proved that it was done with criminal intent, cancellation and redirection would be more than possible.

If the rumours are proven it'll be imperative to cut all links, rather than potentially get dragged in to future legal action or be tarnished by association.

I’m very active on Twitter. @JimForsythe5. Discord served as an alternative to telegram since telegram was a single thread. With the forum now discord has become very inactive. We should likely just turn off the Kinesis portions and push people to the forums.

I agree.

Kinesis is a trusted financial partner. The only thing that should govern that relationship is the contract with Kinesis, and the law.

They are entitled to the yields they are earning, because people used the sign-up link. Full stop. Changing this requires something more than "this person seems icky now." The system should be rock solid and consistent and require something significant in order to change a relationship with a user/client.

The correct way to "fix" this is as the result of a lawsuit. If the WSS community were to sue the previous owner for fraud, get a judgement, and have the court provide that judgement to Kinesis then at that point Kinesis can change the referral yields to a new WSS account. Or maybe past bad actors could be incentivized to voluntarily surrender those yields or the account to a new board in charge of WSS in order to drop a lawsuit - also legal and voluntary.

Maybe Kinesis was buying advertising on the WSS reddit, and they were lied to about users/purpose/brand-safety or whatever. Maybe Kinesis could have a discussion that involved yields and account versus civil action and get a resolution there.

But I'm personally against a unilateral act by Kinesis. Kinesis is vaulted gold and silver, audited, insured, spendable, with yields. Nowhere in that description does it mention "for people Kinesis likes," or cancel culture, or the like. Kinesis' job is to act as a fiduciary and provide the services they offer as well as they can. It's not Kinesis place to police its userbase and determine who is or isn't worthy to participate.
