Vaultside - A Chat With Kinesis - Episode 1

Our CEO, Thomas Coughlin, recently engaged in a comprehensive vault side chat alongside Jim Forsythe from Citizens For Sound Money (C4SM) and members of the Kinesis community. The conversation revolved around the latest developments at Kinesis.

During the discussion, Mr. Coughlin highlighted Kinesis' key achievements since the start of 2023, including the introduction of Kinesis Pay, our expansion in Turkey, and our Q1 2023 audit results.

The conversation kicked off with Mr. Coughlin addressing questions from the Kinesis forum and broader community members. These inquiries covered various topics, such as the anticipated launch of KVT yields, progress on the Physical Mint, our strategic partnership with ABX, and insights from the recent Q1 2023 audit.

Subsequently, the dialogue shifted to the growth of payment services like the Kinesis Virtual Card and Kinesis' approach to asset and wallet security on its platform.

To conclude the vault side chat, Mr. Coughlin and the participants explored upcoming Kinesis initiatives, including forthcoming government partnerships, ongoing expansion into Indonesia, and the implementation of new fiat on- and off-ramps.

Additionally, Mr. Coughlin provided updates on future exchange listings for Kinesis gold and silver, as well as the launch of Kinesis Pro, our professional cryptocurrency trading platform.

Can we ask Tom what happened exactly with TD Bank and how they can avoid those kind of situations with the future partners ?
We can. Working on providing a mechanism for soliciting questions. Prototyped it for this first one. I’m hoping this question though gets rendered moot by the next one. Ie good replacements. I personally don’t know beyond what was in the email.

Clearly the private public sector is going to solve the money problems of this world. Look at this team, im so proud to be part of this transformation. A special thanks to the Volunteers that are critical to success!
Yes this group has an amazing set of volunteers!!! The amount of unpaid work by believers is frankly staggering. Although I have seen something like it once (or twice) before. 😉

Whole broadcast quite informative. 1 hour 26 minutes on was my favorite part of the broadcast. Thanks to all parties who made this happen!
Funny, I actually hadn’t heard that part till now. A friend showed up with their new baby and I ducked out and handed things over to Rhyno. 😂 That is great indeed. My personal favorite was Eric Maine talking about Indonesia - a great inside look at why these things take time and despite what we may see as a lack of progress to understand a lot of work is happening behind the scenes. Quarterly reports just can’t match this kind of interaction.

They may not be able to say much without throwing a former partner under the bus which scares new partners. The best solution is to get new partners.

On Pally-sads Radio, Tom mentioned developing a new reference standard, away from LBMA, for gold. Some people seemed to find that difficult to imagine, although they had their own reasons.

Here's another example, with a different commodity, of a different reference index being adopted. There have always been several for oil, but mainly for type of product or geographical convenience. This change below, though, also seems to be political.

So... using a new or different reference standard is not so outlandish. If the current structures aren't working well for everyone, change them.

I thought the Vaultside chats were going to be on a monthly cadence. Does anyone have any idea when the next one is coming? It's been 1.5 months since the first one.

I think it will partly depend on availability of team members.
My understanding is that there has been and is currently a heavy schedule of travel commitments.

That makes sense, my main question was whether I was misremembering or whether it was said that Vaultsides would be every month. It's hard to keep track of things sometimes.

I'd rather people travel and get things done, then just summarise it updates.

I think this is a completely unique period of opportunity globally, as the tide turns in the favour of PMs and Kinesis in particular.
AIM, I don't think mean to, but you have replied to me on a couple occasions now in a way that comes off as dismissive. Maybe I'm being overly sensitive, but the subtext of your comment is I don't care and you're wrong for doing so. I've also seen you reply in a similar manner to others.

I don't think it's helpful.

The reason I'm asking is because I thought Kinesis said they would be doing monthly Vaultsides. It's important that they follow through if they have committed to it. All the other delays can be blamed on partners, regulation, etc..., but Vaultside is entirely in Kinesis' control.

Perhaps I'm misremembering and they never said it would be monthly. Fine, that's why I'm asking.

Jim Forsythe and C4SM host those vaultside chats with Kinesis management, and planned to publish one every 1 - 2 months. Scheduling around the main work is likely the biggest obstacle.

Thank you. That clears things up. For some reason I got it into my head there would be a regular release schedule a la LFTV.

I never intend to be dismissive.

I apologise.

I apologise.
Thank you. I never really thought you meant to.

By the way, I do appreciate your boundless optimism. I like to think of myself as a realist, but most pessimists do. It's nice to have someone around who sees the possibilities and not the obstacles. Provides good balance.
