Kinesis Launches Enhanced Dashboard

kms-upgrade-news-1-683x376-c-default (1).png

Today, we launched our enhanced dashboard experience offering users a full responsive and accessible version of the Kinesis platform, no matter what device they are on – along with a series of new and upgraded widgets enhancing the everyday usability of the platform.

The all-new Kinesis dashboard has been redesigned to make a meaningful difference to both Android and iOS users, who can now use the platform on their mobile web browser with the same frictionless experience as the Kinesis app.

Due to the internal policies of Apple, App Store restrictions have prevented iOS users in certain regions from installing the Kinesis app. In response to this challenge, we developed an innovative solution to ensure all Kinesis users can seamlessly access the platform on their mobile devices.

The update enables users to navigate the Kinesis platform as a web application – a website that functions in the same ways as an app – simply by logging in to the platform via the Kinesis.money website on their mobile browser.

Additionally, users can simply add a shortcut to the Kinesis platform website to the home screen of their mobile phones, making the web app as accessible on their devices as any traditional application.

In creating a web application, we are also future-proofing against the potential impact of third parties, ensuring the global accessibility of the Kinesis Monetary System.

After months of hard work behind the scenes, I’d like to give you a look into all the enhancements we’ve made. As a Design Technologist at Kinesis, I collaborate with the team to ensure every detail of the platform is taken into account, providing solutions that address all the feedback you share about your platform experience.

We’ve put together a short walkthrough video to show you everything we’ve enhanced – or added – on the platform:

Home

We’ve revamped the layout of the Home (formerly home dashboard) following direct user feedback in multi-departmental workshops, finding the best solution that improves usability and navigation. The new feed view, inspired by the latest industry app trends, brings everything you need into one place, making it easier to access key information and manage your portfolio more efficiently.

buy sell widget

Buy/sell widget

We’ve made it easier than ever to purchase assets. The new and enhanced buy and sell widget is always in view for instant access from the Home and the main menu. On mobile, you can buy or sell directly from the shortcuts menu, look for the lightning button in the bottom right corner of your device. We’ve also implemented live price checks and fee information, giving you complete confidence before placing your order.

Simplified limit orders with ‘Target Price’ widget

The new ‘target price’ feature makes it possible for users to set limit orders – setting a buy or sell order at a specific price – from a simplified widget on the Kinesis dashboard. Users can enter their chosen price and view it as a line on an interactive price chart, making it easier for users to pick their entry and exit points to the market. Alternatively, users can set their buy or sell price a specific percentage away from the current price.

The features make limit orders more accessible to retail users who no longer have to visit the Kinesis Exchange trading interface to buy or sell at a chosen price.

Portfolio widget

At the top of your Home, you can now toggle between your Available balance, the amount you can trade, spend and send and Total balance, which now includes any amount you have pending in open orders.

For users accessing Kinesis on the go, we’ve introduced a new privacy mode, keeping your sensitive data safely hidden from view. You can also see a pie chart showing your asset allocation, providing a breakdown of your holdings by percentage.

Market price

Our upgraded market price view is now more intuitive to navigate. You can quickly swipe through live asset prices, making it easy to stay informed and on top of market movements.

yields breakdown widget

Yield summaries widget

The brand-new Home now features yield summaries. Kinesis users can easily track their yield performance over the past year with a clear overview. The new chart view displays your gold and silver yields, enabling you to compare your month-to-month performance at a glance.

Getting started is easier than ever

We’ve introduced a new functionality that will display a new user’s initial progress on the platform, guiding them to verify their identity and make their very first deposit.

This more gamified experience incentivises new users through the onboarding process with visual recognition of their first actions. We expect the new update to drive increased participation on the platform, resulting in greater transaction volume and, potentially, higher yields for Kinesis users.

earn dedicated section

Dedicated rewards section

We’ve introduced a section dedicated to showing promotions, cashback, yields, and all the ways you can earn with Kinesis.

With a range of offers now live across different countries, this area of the platform succinctly houses promotions so that users across the world can see a regionalised view of the rewards accessible to them.

We’ve approached the dashboard redesign with a focus on delivering a more accessible, intuitive, and responsive tool for our community, whether they’re using the platform on their mobile device, tablet, or desktop.

The new upgrade ensures the Kinesis Monetary System is, and always will be, accessible to all.

I very much appreciate the simplified limit orders UI and language. I've avoided this feature of the KMS until now because I don't trade and didn't understand the language as a result.

The available balance makes it even easier for me to understand, too.

I installed the web app onto my android. I love the extra real estate. Also, the native interactions of the UX components is really nice.

Nice point about Privacy mode and the benefit of sharing it, which demonstrates that potential customers will also be able to do this.

The privacy mode is nice, as is the toggel to see total or available value of assets.
The simplified buy/sell dialogue is a bit confusing to me, but I probably get used to it over time.

In terms of 'enhanced' dashboard, I find the home page actually downgraded, it is stripped down and much less informative then it was.
I realy miss the complete market overview with larger graphs. Now I can only see 4 squeezed down graphs at a time. And the 'view all' button does not show the complete market overview either, it goes staight to the exchange
Also very annoying that the dashboard does not adapt to actual screen ratio while the other pages do use the full screen.

Personally I follow the market with Coingekko and TradingView, and use Kinesis only to enter buy/sell orders.

How can I force an update on my Android phone for the new dashboard interface? It is not prompting me for an update, and I can't find a method to force the update. I still see the old dashboard.

My desktop / web based dashboard shows the changes, but not my phone.

The updated KMS can be found using a browser on your phone.

As Steve implied, the new Dashboard has only been implemented in the web application.
Part of the impetus for making these changes was to make the web app feel more like a mobile app when it's run on a phone.
