GBP/Euro on-ramp

That's customer support for you these days...
Speaking of customer support, and probably more about customer value received from the banking system here -- as I posted above, I made two xfers by SEPA from my bank here immediately upon understanding that the IBAN country of origin was Ireland and selecting it. The first was for 100€ and the second for 200€. Just to see the difference, I requested "Immediate Delivery" for the first, for which I was charged 1.56€ (on top of the .30€ SEPA xfer charge). I requested normal delivery for the 200€, for which I was charged .52€ (again on top of the .30€ SEPA charge).

So, what were the results: the 200€ non-immediate xfer landed in my account after ~30 hours; the 100€ IMMEDIATE xfer? ... well, wouldn't you know ... it hasn't arrived yet. Incompetent parasites, there for essentially no other reason than to collect their fees.

Heheh! My expectation was that they would simply arrive at the same time. But the "immediate" transfer being slower, that is... interesting.

Yep! That's what I expected as well. Now I'm hoping that choosing "immediate" didn't create some kind of a complication--some kind of "red flag"?-- for the xfer. I'll obviously never choose that again.

sending cost €0.30
On Saturday at 9 p.m. I sent EUR 198.87 and this morning (after 30 hours) the amount of EUR 198.57 arrived on the KMS account. It turns out that it cost me a total of EUR 0.30. I wonder if Sunday influenced the transfer time or not? I'll check next time I post on Monday or Tuesday. We'll see. So far, two transfers from Revolut have been made with a total cost of EUR 0.60, while I am waiting for one more (small) one from mBank.

The funds from mBank arrived after two days.

Sounds great!
It’s odd the EU can deposit GBP before the UK though.
Does anyone know which country is next for this new on-ramp?

I think the UK is next.
Given the larger market (more people) EU makes a lot of sense also.

I think it was previously highlighted that UK would be next and that ApplePay is close.

So probably UK, then hopefully US and CA soon - though I think that CA could be tough so maybe a Turkish bank is next after UK and US.

from Vaultside episode 3:

And from there, with these on ramps, we will then start to bring on the UK program in succession after the European rollout. ...
And the reason that I sort of mention it now is that as David sort of spoke of before with our work with regulation and different regulators around the world.
We're starting to make moves into the UK and to put ourselves in a position where the card program and the UK banking can roll out in a very compliant way.
We are working with the regulator ...

It’s odd the EU can deposit GBP before the UK though.

The SEPA and Faster Payments depositing is offered via the same provider (Modulr).
With rollout to EU first, those in EU can access both.

When UK gets access, it's likely to similarly be to both Faster Payments and SEPA.

Today I sent £ to my GBP account in KMS (as I live in the EU it's possible to also create a virtual bank account for the GBP deposit to KMS).
I sent a small amount from my Revolut GBP account, when I set up the account details in Revolut they asked for a clearing number and I used the Sort Code. Everything went thru and it took 45 minutes until the money was on my KMS account! The cost was Revolut 0.19£ and Kinesis 0.30£ a total of 0.49£ which is very good.

Well this is surely good news.
I could switch the registered address of my KMS i suppose and start using the EU route but i have decided to hang fire. Just today i wanted to send in some USD to the KMS. This is the first time since we heard that the Citizens bank is no longer happy to deal with a precious metal outfit - well anyway i decided to send dollars to Indonesia using my old favourite Currencyfair. I haven't used the Indonesian route for a long time with Currencyfair and I'm not going to be using it anytime soon - they disallowed the transfer. So in the end I sent the dollars to my Mint account - and that was fine but not ideal.

Then this afternoon a friend asked me to help him transfer some BTC from Revolut to the KMS.
I have never used Revolut to transfer out BTC.
We could not find a button to send BTC out of the account - it turned out there is no button - you can't send crypto out of a Revolut account to any external wallet - well not at least in the UK.
From what i can make out this is a relatively recent change.
Well if you can never send crypto out, what's to say there is no crypto in Revolut?

I found this below the “Help” heading!

How do I send cryptocurrency from Revolut?

There are two methods of sending cryptocurrency with Revolut: to a Revolut friend (off-chain) and to an external address (on-chain).

Transferring cryptocurrency to a Revolut friend:

Send cryptocurrency to a friend on Revolut by tapping the Transfers tab in the app → select one of your Revolut friends → select the cryptocurrency from the drop-down list → enter the amount you want to send → tap Send. The friend immediately sees the sent cryptocurrency in their Revolut account!

Transfer of cryptocurrency to an external address:

Use the following steps to send crypto from Revolut to an external address:

Go to the Crypto section of the app → tap More and then tap Send

Select one of the compatible wallets already created or tap New to add a new address. You can also paste a new wallet address in the search field to continue

Enter the amount you want to send and press Send

Review the transfer and check the information and network. Press Submit to confirm

Once you have confirmed the transaction, you cannot cancel or undo it (even if the transaction status is pending). Revolut cannot recover money sent to the wrong address or with the wrong network.

We recommend doing a test transfer every time you add a new wallet, to confirm that everything is working as it should.

If Wallets are not available, you may not be eligible for blockchain withdrawals due to your location or the selected currency.

Yes, the above lets me send XRP from my Revolut account in the UK as needed.

Tap the 'Crypto' button at the bottom of the Revolut home screen.

This is a newish account. He rang up Revolut - the chap went off to check and came back to say you can't send crypto out.
i don't have Revolut and my phone isn't up to date enough to download the app - so i have no way of checking myself.
