Apple Pay status and experience of early access users

FYI
I have linked my VDC to Apple pay and used it with Apple Pay to buy goods at Villa supermarket in Bangkok Thailand. I used this method there a few years back with the old VDC as well.

I was a bit concerned a few days ago when Central World told me they didn't accept Apple Pay, although contactless payments were apparently available there.

yes, what is Kinesis doing here? I have been using the card in the UK for groceries and restaurants because I saw in the forum that apple pay was finally enabled. So clearly kinesis losing revenues because they don't announce this as i assume the majority of the user base don’t read the forum and is completely unaware

I want to link the VC to ApplePay. Which bank do i have to choose?

I didn't have to write any bank in iOS 15.7.6. The card number itself with the six first digits tells what bank it is! 537296 means (see attachment)

@Loizon

No official email/announcement of Apple Pay.

Kinesis likely making sure everything checks out and no bugs before emailing/announcing to all users.

Also hopefully making sure it is easy to setup and text verification works properly.

Would be nice to see step by step instructions and a short video on how to use when the email comes out @Bryan

Cheers,
MiningStocks

I tried Apple pay recently in the Lotus supermarket (previously Tesco) just outside Bangkok, it didn't work. I think it was their system that was at fault though.

Last week I paid for food and beer at the Robin Hood pub on Sukhumvit road. Apple Pay worked fine. So I can live on beer and chips 😉!

This thread originally asked about an update about Apple Pay.

This section from the Q2-Q3 report addresses that:

The third quarter of the year will see the official launch of Apple Pay for the Kinesis Virtual Card, with marketing commencing in the third quarter of the year.
Apple Pay has a 507m strong network of global users already making everyday contactless transactions through the provider, in-store and online.
We will notify all our users once Apple Pay is officially released.

Based on the posts in this thread, the functionality is clearly available and several users have taken advantage of this "early access".
Some may prefer to wait for the official release.
Others can read about early users' experience in this thread.

I've changed the thread title to better reflect the thread posts from
Apple Pay Update - Gentle reminder
to
Apple Pay status and experience of early access users
